Pretty sure it doesn't take a lot to think of a repeated weekend event.

Seriously doubt it. Why would they have the announcements up on different days, some weeks its up monday/tuesday/weds even thurs one week.
If things were planned they could have it up on monday every week.

AFAIK they selectively pick weekend events based on player statistics, favor amount, amount of people doing stuff, title statistics, economy values, etc.

It's a simple task. Why not?

I really don't think they put that much effort into it.

I really think Anet just toss a coin the night before to pick it. It's Anet, they're about as organised as an African election, or Amy Winehouse's setlist, etc etc

It's probably a drinking game.
If anyone comes out sober - it's time for a PvE weekend.
As punishment.

Event schedule would be great. GW is an old game, and if an event perks my interest, it would be great if I could plan to actually login and play that weekend or day, or whatever.

So I voted "Yes to all"

They could of course, surprise us still by adding to the event, or making it better by adding a special item or prize. You get the idea.

No.

I really like the surprise. Something to look forward to, when stuck in the middle of the week on a boring office day.

Everyone who says they like surprises, may I ask you what surprises you're all talking about? Apart from this weekend, every weekend is the same old crap. Hardly a surprise.
